I am Dr. Amir El Shami.

I am a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician. My areas of expertise include orthopedic sports medicine, running medicine, complex musculoskeletal syndromes, pain management, regenerative medicine, electrodiagnostic studies and musculoskeletal ultrasounds.

Education

• Doctorate of Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, Illinois

• Internship at the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois

• Residency at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital through the Harvard Medical School Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Boston, Massachusetts.

• Fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the University of Chicago.

I take a comprehensive and innovative approach to care by utilizing all available nonoperative techniques to support the body’s natural healing and recovery process allowing my patients to improve their daily functioning and return to the activities they enjoy.
